In September, new light vehicle sales in Brazil rose impressively by 18.6% compared to last year, reaching 222,243 units. This marks the best September since 2019, just shy of the previous record of 223,240. So far this year, sales are up 13.9%, totaling 1,747,019 units. Fiat leads the market with a 22.3% share, selling 5.5 times more vehicles in Brazil than in Italy, where it holds just 7.5% of the market. Volkswagen follows in second place with a 15.9% share, while Chevrolet struggles with a slight decline. Toyota’s sales grew by 23.6%, bringing its share to 8%. Notably, Renault saw a 45.7% increase. BYD had the largest growth at 178.8%, though it remains in 10th place, with Honda and Nissan also posting impressive gains.
The Fiat Strada leads the rankings, increasing its market share to 6.4%, compared to 5.8% earlier this year. The podium remains unchanged with the VW Polo rising by 29.8% and the Chevrolet Onix growing by 7.2%. The VW T-Cross and Fiat Argo swapped places, with the Argo moving up to fourth for the year, surpassing the Hyundai HB20, which dropped by 8.6%. The Fiat Cronos climbed 14 spots to #9 with a 27.3% increase, while the Nissan Kicks rose two spots to #10. Among new entries, the Renault Kardian jumped nine places to #26, while the BYD Dolphin Mini fell three spots to #37.
